Maria Petrou, 1953–2012
The computer vision community was very saddened to learn of the death of one of its great researchers and characters, Maria Petrou. A distinguished fellow of the BMVA, Maria was admired and much liked in both the UK and internationally. Her life was celebrated in obituaries in national newspapers:
